Upcycled Cashmere Sweaters and Accessories Simple or complex, appliques for me were at first a functional way to cover up holes or stains on the cashmere sweaters I rescue from potential landfill. People toss their cashmere often because of moth holes. Cashmere is the favorite food of hungry, newly born moths that you don’t realize you have until holes appear. ✍🏻 I’ve written about remedies for potential destruction like this in my blog. 📖 See “The Sweater Savior Project” and “What is Reincarnated Cashmere”. Link in bio. 🐯I first found a pile of luxurious cashmere sweaters at the Rose Bowl swapmeet sometime in 2004 and felt I could do something cool with them. I chopped off the sleeves, made sleeveless embellished sweaters and what I called “arm socks” which later turned into fingerless gloves. That one idea turned into thousands over time. I’ve dressed celebrities, women, their husbands, dogs, kids, and homes in my reincarnated cashmere designs. 🌿 Appliqué sweaters are iconic to my brand and what I’m best known for. I chose the name “reincarnated cashmere” because I’m literally rescuing a sweater and giving it a new life.
